I know, I know... I normally reserve the quotes for Saturday, but I wanted to follow up with another John Calvin quote.  I am reading The Institutes of Christian Religion and it is a slow read because so much is packed into each sentence.  Take these for example and meditate on them:

The one who leads the best and holiest life is the one who thinks of himself least.  No one leads such a bad and sinful life as the one who looks only to his own interests.
